- Freshwater shrimp, known as scuds, are a year-round presence in water bodies. They undergo several molting cycles annually and are a primary source of protein for trout. Therefore, if the fish are uninterested in other types of nymphs or streamers, switching to a scud may prove to be effective.
- The DJA scud's heavy body is made of lead, and it is tied on Demmon barbless hooks.
- In essence, you can apply the same technique for fishing scuds or sowbugs as you would for any other type of nymph pattern. Utilising a dead drift, with or without an indicator, tends to be effective.
How to choose the color: dark colors for rivers with peat and stones covered with brown algae, light colors are for rivers with limestone and algae or green aquatic plants.
