Troutline Tactical Dark Stone Clinger Mayfly Nymph is designed to imitate flat-bodied mayfly nymphs from the Heptageniidae family, insects that live in cold, fast and well-oxygenated rivers. These nymphs are naturally adapted to cling to stones and hold their position even in strong currents, making them an important food source for trout and grayling in alpine and mountain streams.
This version has a dark colored body, a very good color choice when you need contrast, discretion and a natural dark silhouette. The black nickel tungsten bead adds weight for fast sinking and gives the fly a modern, less flashy look compared with gold or silver beads. It is especially useful in clear water, pressured rivers, deep runs and fast riffles.
The compact body profile helps the fly cut quickly through the water, while the natural dark tones make it a strong searching nymph when fish are feeding close to the bottom on clinger mayflies and other small aquatic insects.
