The Troutline Tactical Black and Hot Orange Perdigon Nymph is a fast-sinking tungsten nymph built around one of the most reliable colour combinations in modern fly fishing: black and hot orange.

The black body creates a strong, visible silhouette underwater. This is especially important in coloured water, but also in clear water when fish look at the fly from below against the light. The hot orange detail adds a clear trigger point, giving the fly extra attraction without making it too aggressive.

This contrast between dark body and hot spot has proved effective over many seasons and on many fly patterns. Combined with the slim perdigon profile and tungsten bead, it makes this nymph a very efficient choice for trout and grayling in a wide range of river conditions.

Key features:

  • Slim perdigon profile for fast sinking
  • Strong black silhouette with excellent underwater contrast
  • Hot orange trigger point for extra visibility
  • Tungsten bead for quick depth control
  • Very effective in both clear and muddy water
  • Works well in medium currents, riffles and deep runs
  • Recommended for Euro nymphing, Czech nymphing and upstream nymph fishing
  • Suitable from spring to autumn
  • Effective for trout and grayling in many conditions

Recommended use:

Recommended for trout and grayling fishing in clear water, slightly coloured water and muddy conditions. This perdigon works very well in medium currents, riffles, pocket water and deep runs, especially when you need a fast-sinking fly with strong contrast.

Fish it with Euro nymphing, Czech nymphing or upstream nymphing techniques, either as a point fly or as part of a two-fly setup. The black body and hot orange trigger make it a strong choice from spring to autumn, especially when fish respond well to visible, high-contrast nymphs.
