Its main idea is simple but very effective: a small foam “balloon” placed near the head improves flotation and visibility, while the wing keeps the natural look of an adult caddis.
This construction makes the fly especially useful when sedges are active on the water. Unlike a static dry fly, a caddis often moves, skates or struggles on the surface.
