Weasel is known in fly tying world for his particular dense and shinny skin. The fur has soft and dense underfur and the guard fur is well marked with super shinny light rusty shade. Weasel is apreciate lately for his consistency in quality of fur and because the density of hair is uniform and higher than rabbit and squirrel. That means very good wings for zonkers.

Another great aspect is the skin which is very thin, soft and nice. That means higher mobility in water and the fly will have better shape compared with a rabbit zonker one which is less denser in fur and the skin is thicker.

  • suits for all kinds of micro, small and medium streamers
  • the strips are made of tanned soft and thin skin, aprox 3mm wide
  • better by far then rabbit
  • a little bit larger than squirrel zonkers but smaller than rabbit zonkers
  • each bag contain aprox 50-60cm

The zonkers strips are cut from head to tail and are very nice and uniform, perfect for making small and medium sized streamers. We really love these skins because they behave so nice in water

Hi guys,
I ordered from you all kind of tying stuff. Zonker skin is my favorite fur which I order from your shop. It is my first time using weasel. Compared with muskrat has less dense fur on the shin. What is very nice is the short hair. I like how looks when is wet. I made a few small streamers and they turned out very well. Thanks! (Posted on 10/10/2022)
