This dubbing was created by our team in order to obtain a nice and natural look with a lively texture in our caddis patterns. It is a premium fine blend of squirrel mask fur and hare mask fur, mixed in several natural shades to create a beautiful brownish colour. the mix was made to match the look of cased caddis nymphs found in many European rivers.
What makes this dubbing special is its texture. Besides the soft fur, it also contains short and very short guard hairs. These fibers give the fly a more natural, slightly rough appearance, exactly the kind of effect many good caddis imitations need.
It can be used for bodies, thoraxes, or full buggy nymphs. Used with a dubbing loop, it becomes even more attractive, giving the fly a spiky and very natural finish.
This is the kind of dubbing that helps you tie flies with character. Simple to use, natural in the water, and very well suited for realistic caddis patterns for trout and grayling.
