Troutline Perdigon UV Resin Clear 10ml is our newest resin. The resin is very thin, probably the thinnest you can find. We developed this resin when we wanted to coat perdigon nymphs in small and very small sizes. A normal UV resin is often too thick and will increase the diameter of the fly. Also will make the fly to sink slower and will provide a bulky look. With Perdigon resin the small flies will stay thin and delicate with a fast sinking rate!

Details:

  • very thin resin with viscosity lower than water!
  • it is super thin and this is not bad! A super thin resin will spread very fast on fly body without trapping air bubbles
  • because the resin is low viscosity, only a super small drop is enough to cover the fly! These means that more flies can be tied with the same volume!
  • a super thin resin will penetrate better the body of the fly and will provide durability after curing
  • cures super fast and easy!
  • cures transparent and non sticky/tacky ( expose to UV light enough until coats completely dry )
  • cures in UV light spectrum in the range of 350-420nm
  • cures with any kind of cheap uv pen or torch, no needed a special and expensive light!!
  • cures without heating! - means no damaging the body of the fly or fragile materials used!
  • the Perdigon UV resin is delivered black UV protected bottles with dropper
  • 10ml bottle
  • low smell

How to use it:

  • apply a very small drop of resin, preferable with a small needle
  • coat  for a few seconds
  • repeat with the second layer and third if necessary to obtain a thicker coat
  • final exposure should be longer - aprox 120 sec or a little bit more if necessary

Advice:

  • for coating dry flies bodies or heads one layer is enough
  • for coating nymphs and emergers we recommend 2 or 3 layers

What we love at this resin is how thin it is and how fast and uniform is covering the entire body without trapping air bubbles. An extra advantage is in viscosity, due to the fact that the resin is ultra thin means that the layer remain thin and the fly will have a delicate silhouette . A classic or thick resin will make a bulky fly and when is about small flies then the result will be fatty flies like a ball.

Foarte buna Review by Andrei B

E buna, chiar foarte buna!. Se intareste repede si e perefcta pentru uscate si nimfe. Poti sa iti intaresti corpurile fara sa le faci prea groase din cauza stratului de rasina (Posted on 3/17/2024)
Great new version Review by Horace

I got my order a few days ago, this time I can tell you that I am really satisfied. It has no smell, hardens quickly and is not as liquid as the previous version. I am more than happy with this resin. Too bad I can't post pictures in the comments. You should do something about it (Posted on 7/28/2023)
An excellent update Review by Johan

Finally you have a good resin. It doesn't smell at all. It hardens quickly and is clearly superior to what you have had so far. I am satisfied with both the quality of the product and the price. (Posted on 2/1/2023)
Great for delicate flies Review by Kyle Cheshire

Great resin for Perdigons, dry flies and anything else that you’d like to keep as slim and lightweight as possible. I use it almost exclusively on small Perdigons and quill bodied dry flies and it’s never let me down, I use a high powered UV torch and have never had any issues with curing and discolouration. My favorite resin Review by Miguel

It is my favorite resin because is thin and coats fast. I had problems with coating but I changed the lamp and now everything works great and the resin goes hard super fast.
I love this resin because I like to have thin bodies for my micro nymphs. I hate thick resin because it gives volume . This one is according with my expectations. One extra small drop of resin and the fly is ready. (Posted on 5/11/2022)
Good resin Review by Maxim

In fact is more a kind of uv lacquer because is very thin. I check the description carefully before buying it. After I received and I tested and here is my conclusion:
Cons-it cures longer than you standard resin. First time I had to change my batteries because after curing with my old batteries the resin remained sticky. With new batteries the resin was ok
Pro- it goes really hard and very thin which is good
Pro- smell is not so strong. I read that some guys are not pleased with the smell but for me was more than ok.

good varnish Review by Matteo

Is more like a varnish, very liquid. I like it , goes hard super fast and non sticky. I saw somebody is telling that is sticky but is not. This varnish goes hard like a rock. I put a small drop of resin on a piece of plastic and I keep my lamp on it. The varnish was completely dry in a few seconds. If the batteries have less energy then the resin will not coat completely.
This resin receive 4 stars from me me because it has smell. Otherwise is good (Posted on 2/28/2020)
Below average Review by antikipr

It is not completely free of effusion that gently sticks. This also causes a slightly dull surface. (Posted on 11/29/2019)
Good resin Review by Leon

It is great, the resin is thin and lays down perfectly. I preferred a smaller bottle with dropper a little bit more precise but in the end the resin is great. 5 stars for resin and 3 starts for bottle. In the end you have 4 stars which I think is good :)

Great resin! Review by Jan

I must say that this resin is great for my perdigon nymphs! I was first a litlle bit scared that resin will be too thin but in the end is perfect for me. I would also like to say that delivery is phenomenal. Only one day from Romania to Slovenia. Great job!

Thanks Lucian (Posted on 3/5/2019)
