Troutline Dyed Tanned Hare Mask

We provide natural and dyed Hare Tanned Masks . A hare mask is appreciated by fishermen as a great source for dubbing for all kind of river flies. You can use fur from ears, from nose and around eyes if you like. If you want to cut the fur from ears or from cheeks or between eyes you are free to do that. Each part has special structure so that you can enjoy it! You can select these parts and make your personal dubbing according with your needs

A tanned hare mask is 100% without natural grease, dirt and blood. 

Mask Colors:

Dyed over natural — this means the colors are not solid, preserving the natural tones and texture of the fur.

The most commonly used shades are:

• Yellow tint

• Brown tint

• Olive tint

These provide a more realistic and natural appearance for fly tying.

Masks and how to use it:

• the fibers and furs from the ears and between eyes is the best material for making beautiful colored dubbing for small and medium flies
• the fibers from cheeks is perfect for tying medium sized bodies
• we advice to hand cut the fur from the base and to mix with your fingers. In this way you will obtain the best dubbing you can imagine!

Do not forget that a lot of tiers use to wet the fingers with tongue or lips to apply the dubbing on the tying thread. The health risk is huge if you use air dried pelts and masks! When tanned pelts and masks are used there is no such risk.
