Badger fur became popular between fishermen who make tube flies and salmon flies. The structure of badger fur is interesting with long shinny guard fur colored from white to dark grey-black. It suits for flies dedicated to be fished in strong currents. The guard fur can be used for bodies, if you fix it in dubbing loop you will obtain a nice translucent body without being too bulky.
Guard hair can be used also for river flies for making wings for small streamers or to make superb tails for dry flies and nymphs,
