We consider ants a must have fly for any fishermen. The honey brown colour works fantastic especially in Summer and Autumn when these ants are all over. Is known that this fly is probably the best and the most effective after a short Summer rain. We love to fish with long leader using down and across technique.
We make i as delicate as possible and is tied on curved hook to imitate better the natural shape. The fly has one or 2 turns of ginger hackle. Is not in our intention to make it with dense hackle, we consider that a sunk insect can be more effective. The fly floats in water film and from time to time is good to apply a small drop of floatant. We recommend to be fished with long tapered fluorocarbon leaders
