Ewing Genetic Saddle Grade #1 is the perfect hackle saddle for tying all kind of flies from dry flies to buggers, saltwater pattern and pike flies. The sizes of hackle starts around #14 and goes down to size #4. You can make some beautiful dry flies, palmered stimulator flies or just super pike flies!

We love this saddle due to the structure of the barbs which are more elastic and thin compared with other genetic feathers. There is a little web in the structure but that is not bad at all because the hackle is more soft and lays nicely on the water. If the feathers are used for matuka, palmered streamers or just tails for big predator, the stem let them to work better in water without being stiff.
