The ST319 BL from the Demmon Competition series was developed for tying perdigon nymphs. This model features a beautifully rounded wide gap and a short shank. The geometry allows you to tie perdigon nymphs perfectly and to keep the ideal proportions between body, tail and hook gap.
Designed with competition anglers in mind, this hook is strong enough for powerful fish while still maintaining balance and efficiency in modern nymphing techniques. The jig-style eye keeps the fly riding hook-point-up, reducing snags and improving presentation close to the bottom.
The round bend combined with the inward-curved barbless point creates a very reliable hooking mechanism. Once the fish is on, the shape helps maintain constant contact and reduces the risk of losing it during sudden head shakes.
