Rinon feathers come from the kidney area of the rooster and are considered among the best Coq de Leon feathers from a quality point of view. They are not as long as neck or saddle feathers, but their fibres are fine, straight, elastic and very regular in length. This makes them excellent for tying elegant tails, wings and Spanish-style hackles.

The Pardo family is famous for its natural speckled pattern, brightness and translucent look. The markings should be visible on both sides of the feather, giving the fibres a very realistic insect-like appearance.
