Nutria guard fur is super spiky and has an unique texture very similar with mature seal fur. It has his translucency and we consider a fantastic replacement for seal. This material is popular for tying big lake flies that need volume. Also popular for tying salmon and steelhead flies too.

For river flies is used to form the thorax area or to give a super spiky look to nymphs. For example a turn with this dubbing behind beads provides a nice buggy look. If you like italian style of fishing ( pesca in caccia) this material is perfect for their style of big hairy dry flies.
